Another astounding Alocasia specimen, Melo is native to Sabah and often referred to as Alocasia Rugosa for its unique leaf texture. The name 'melo' comes from observing the leaf texture: thick, nearly circular with bumpy and wrinkled texture similar to the skin of a cantaloupe melon. Alocasia Melo in the wild grows on ultramafic soils.
